Join us as we explore the sounds and stories of Ireland’s songs, singers, and vocal legends in this culminating production created by campers and camp staff! Over a three-week period (June 10-28), Irish Campers ages 6-16 will learn traditional ballads and party songs, made popular by iconic Irish musicians (past and present) such as Sinead O’Connor, Christy Dignam, Christy Moore, Shane MacGowan, Mary Black, Dolores Keane, Van Morrison, Dolores O’Riordan, and Lisa O’Neill. “Ireland is famous for its music,” says Camp Director Máire Clerkin. “Campers will take a journey through old familiar standards to new and contemporary sounds. We will celebrate and interpret a rich variety of melodies and lyrics and see how to dramatize the stories in the songs, creating theatrical scenes from Irish poems, shanties and ballads.”

Campers will share songs, rap out the rhymes, act out the stories, dress for the part, hip hop and Irish ceili dance to favorite tunes, and play instruments to bring it all together. Sit back and enjoy!
