Irish American Writers and Artists Salon

Irish American Writers and Artists West will be hosting an in-person salon at the authentic Irish pub, Slainte Oakland in the historic Jack London Square district, and going forward on the second Wednesday of the month. All are welcome to attend although space is limited to the pub which seats about 30. If you would like to perform for an 8-minute slot, please contact Lori Cassels at lcassels@aol.com.
October Salon will feature:
1. Irish American Writers and Artist Board member Lori Cassels will host and perform original songs from her CD Tear of the Cloud.

2. Clifton Linton, retired business journalist and musician regaled the audience with tales of his time covering the Chicago futures exchange in the 1990’s. He read from his Substack blog called ‘Tales of Yore from the Trading floor’.
3. UICC Member volunteer Barbara McVeigh will read a passage from her novella which she completed during the pandemic – “FAN, Inc,: Warning, Your Oxygen Is Low.” The book serves as an experimental community impact project, a story that can expand into a larger collective narrative as a warning about the modern-day global powers and to demonstrate the power of storytelling.
4. Susan Timney, artist and entrepreneur will share new songs.
