- Read aloud your favored passages from Ulysses in the library’s cozy atmosphere.
- Enjoy traditional music streaming and a vintage reel of old Dublin to enhance the atmosphere.
- A “New to our Book Cart” collection of James Joyce’s works will be available for purchase.
- No drinks, no food, no charge.
Bloomsday celebrates Thursday, June 16, 1904, the day immortalized in James Joyce’s 1922 novel Ulysses. The day is named after Leopold Bloom, one of the novel’s protagonists. The novel follows Bloom’s life and thoughts (as well as those of Stephen Dedalus and a host of other characters, real and fictional) from 8AM through to the early hours of the following morning.
