Every year on Easter Sunday, residents of the Bay Area have a unique opportunity to remember those who risked their lives during the 1916 Irish rebellion. A few hundred men and women stood against the British Empire in Dublin. Those events are commemorated with esteem at Holy Cross Cemetery at the graveside of Fenian organizer and former San Francisco sheriff Thomas Desmond. Linda Dillion will deliver this year’s oration.

The 1916 Easter Rising Commemoration takes place at Holy Cross in Colma on Easter Sunday, March 31. All are welcome to attend. Attendees are asked to assemble at the main gate at 11am and proceed to the graveside at 11:30am.
