Dear Members of the Irish Center:
In our last message we reported we were undertaking some internal restructuring of both our finances and our operational workflow, all of which is intended to move the Center further along to a path of growth and vibrancy.
We are making wonderful progress in expanding the breadth and regularity of our cultural events and programing, with many more events planned for the coming months. However, we continue to be challenged by the required attention over our Food and Beverage operations which have been unprofitable for years. The Board is working very closely with our Staff this Summer to reinvigorate these operations and see if they might stand on their own by the end of 2018. We’ve made reductions in staff hours and staff, including the elimination of the Executive Director position. We are following progress very carefully and we will keep you well informed as we proceed.
In the meantime, we strongly encourage you to support the Center by taking advantage of our excellent meeting and event facilities, and by enjoying our restaurant, bar, and weekend music. Come in and enjoy the beers flowing from our brand new beer tap system, with all new distribution lines and refrigeration. Join us for 3 Beer Garden events scheduled in August, September and October, and an upcoming whiskey tasting event as well. Some other dates to remember:
