Celebrating 50 Years of Culture, Community, and Commitment 

As both the UICC and the Patrick J. Dowling Library mark fifty years in 2025, we celebrate, promote, and preserve our Irish heritage through cultural programing and initiatives and by collecting and sharing stories related to the Irish diaspora and the many ways we are all connected.  We honor the legacy of those who sacrificed and made possible the dream of a home for the Irish along the west coast of California. We celebrate the friendships and special bonds of community that have been fostered and forged here. Taking inspiration from our pioneering ancestors we chart a course forward with renewed enthusiasm and commitment to build a future worthy of our past, one that will serve as a beacon for the Irish in the western United States and for Irish everywhere—a new era of Irish tradition!
