The UICC invites you to join us for an old-fashioned literary evening to celebrate the first launch in the United States of the book ’The Magical Journey of John and Adele’ in partnership with the Irish Consulate of San Francisco on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 7 pm in the St. Francis Room. This novel of magical realism in which not all is as it seems follows a journey of discovery as we move through the Irish landscape with a couple on a quest of self-realisation, honest communication in their partnership, and the search for contentment in life.
An enchanting mixture of mystery, fable, and relationship guide, this book has important messages to transmit about life and life partnerships, but is a relaxing and uplifting read and is meant to be enjoyed. We all need a little magic in our lives……

About the authors
Under the pen name of Ancius M. Murray is an Irish-Lithuanian team made up of a physicist, a lawyer, and a creative writer – that’s us!
Perhaps you’ll find what we’ve done here is extremely difficult to achieve; a consistent novel of magical realism written by three authors with different nationalities, cultures, and languages.
When we started out on this writing project as friends, we also thought it might be impossible. But, propelled forward by inner forces we didn’t really understand, each one of us made a unique contribution every day. We knit together a beautiful tapestry now unrolling in front of you.
