Here are some great pictures of the celebration of the June 4th visit of the An Taoiseach (Prime Minister), Enda Kenny to the UICC. Consul General of Ireland to the Western United States, Philip Grant and Vice Consul, Kevin Byrne, welcomed and introduced the Taoiseach to Members of the UICC. We were ably represented by UICC President Judith Kell and United Irish Societies President, Diarmuid Philpott. Other guests included the Irish Ambassador to the US, Anne Anderson, Mayor of San Francisco, Ed Lee and Finbar Hill, Honorary Consul General to LA. Representatives from Aer Lingus and Tourism Ireland were also present. Our own General Manager, Teresa Moore (former student of Enda Kenny before he was Taoiseach) worked very hard, with the help of staff, Board and volunteers, to make the Center a most welcome place for the Taoiseach and our Members and Friends. The San Francisco Police Department was out in force and as you can see, the Taoiseach was most appreciative of being protected by San Francisco's finest. Our own John Moylan and son Brendan Moylan again graciously donated their time and beer to the celebration. Roche Winery was also present and donated some wonderful wine that added to the festivities. Members of the Roche family present included Maura (pouring) Brendan, wife Colleen and baby Liam, and Marketing Manager Jason Klein. The Irish National Anthem was beautifully sung by Celine Kennelly and Mary McKeever. The US National Anthem was sung by Molly McFadden, Joe McFadden's daughter. The Gaelic Athletic Association's athletes were presented trophies by the Taoiseach, the Irish Ambassador and the Mayor.
