ZOE HAYTER
Singer-songwriter, theatre, street performer and film actor Zoe Hayter, who is now based in Ireland’s heart of culture, Galway, is originally half English, half Czech. Being born into a world-wide known travelling theatre company Footsbarn Theatre, Zoe has grown up performing theatre and music in the streets, venues and in the family’s big top all over Europe. She has released her debut record of original music, Only Breathing with her first band at the age of 14, which she produced herself with money made busking every day after school.
At 22 years of age, she has already played world’s biggest festivals such as Glastonbury or Electric Picnic, has toured through Ireland and France with the Oscar winning musician Glen Hansard and released her debut solo record RAW at the beginning of this year which she toured Europe and UK with. The opening track of the record Side Effect has been described as “So beautiful, breathtaking.” by Fiachna Ó Braonáin, the guitarist from Ireland’s legendary rock group, Hothouse Flowers.
Having studied theatre in Paris for two years, Zoe’s performance of her music takes the audience on a journey, telling stories through songs with a theatrical twist, using different instruments to accompany her gravelly voice, touching many styles from folk music to PJ Harvey’s punk blues.
Meeting Vincey during her last travels through San Francisco created a beautiful connection through their love for music and their Irish roots, Zoe is very happy to be sharing her first SF headline performance with Vincey.
VINCEY KEEHAN
Born in Beagh, County Galway, Vincey Keehan emigrated to San Francisco early in the 1980’s. Living and working in the City itself, he quickly got involved in the Irish music scene. He is an original member of the legendary Gas Men playing music throughout the Bay Area since 1995. The Gas Men have two recordings: Minding Mice at The Crossroads ( 1998) and Clement Street (2008).
Vincey returns to Galway several times a year and has produced a live recording from Whelan’s Pub involving his local community. In collaboration with the extraordinary concertina player Paddy Egan, Vincey released Nights in Shanaglish on vinyl, CD and video (2014).
In 2022, Vincey released his first solo album Great Highway. This release involves family members and fellow San Francisco based musicians performing a collection of original songs he composed over the years. Great Highway was highly received at a sold out show in The Balboa Theater and sold out at the Galway performance as well. Great Highway is available to stream on all platforms. Catch the live Galway performance Great Highway Live on YouTube.
Vincey is looking forward to performing at Lost Church with Zoe Hayter.
