The statue of Robert Emmet, which stands in front of the Academy of Science in the San Francisco Golden Gate Park, was dedicated by Eamon De Valera 102 years ago this September. Every year since, the Irish community in San Francisco has honored the Irish patriot with the laying of a wreath and other festivities.
