‘A Night in November’ by Marie Jones : Set amid one of the most contentious times in Northern Ireland’s ‘Troubles”, Kenneth Mc Callister, a bored, everyday protestant dole clerk reluctantly attends a soccer match between Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland, only to be awoken to the biases, racism and bigotry in his own community (and, indeed, himself), and sets out on a voyage of discovery, forgiveness, and redemption.
This brilliant and piercingly funny one-man play is performed by acclaimed Irish actor Alan Smyth. Alan has appeared in every major theatre in Ireland, played at Lincoln Center, New York; The Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC; and at The Opera in Cairo, Egypt.
Since moving to the United States in 2007, Alan has appeared in many television shows, movies, and a number of theatre productions. You can read more about Alan HERE
