TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION:
On May 7, 2021, the UICC’s Board of Directors, with support from our dedicated Membership and Irish community, revealed a bold new visionary proposal to rebuild the Irish Center. While the Building Committee explored several options this past Spring, the decision to redevelop the existing site made the most sense for long-term sustainability. A new building will provide the community with a greater variety of spaces to devote to cultural programs, classes, festivals and special events including history, music, art, dance, literature, drama, crafts, language, travel, sports and traditional activities.
The video proposal and renderings are available at https://irishcenter2025.org. I, the undersigned, support the United Irish Cultural Center in its application to the City, and I urge the Planning Department and Planning Commission to approve the United Irish Cultural Center’s application for a new building.
I FULLY SUPPORT THE PROPOSAL TO REBUILD THE IRISH CENTER.
There is a public meeting to discuss this project on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021, at 7pm. The meeting will be held in the St. Patrick’s Room at the UICC, 2700 45th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94116.
